It is bordered by Russia to the east; Belarus to the north; Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary to the west; Romania and MoldovaBlack Sea and Sea of Azov to the south. The city of Kiev is both the capital and the largest city of Ukraine. The country is home to 46.2 million people, 77.8 percent of whom are ethnic Ukrainians, with sizable minorities of Russians, Belarusians and Romanians. The Ukrainian language is the only official language in Ukraine, while Russian is also widely spoken. The dominant religion in the country is Eastern Orthodox Christianity, which has heavily influenced Ukrainian architecture, literature and music. The color blue of the Ukrainian Flag represents the color of the sky, and yellow symbolizes the lush golden wheat fields of this country. These two colors, blue and yellow, have been associated with Ukraine from the times before the introduction of Christianity. Now they are incorporated into the flag of Ukraine.

	Commentary from the Designer: The flag of the Ukraine is a popular design for shirts, mugs, caps and other similar items. I think there must be a lot of proud Ukrainians out there who want to show their heritage. And maybe a lot of people have fond memories of visiting Ukraine as a tourist destination.
