In its time, the poster was meant to rally support behind our soldiers and against Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Propaganda posters were widely used during World War II to stir up feelings of patriotism.

Commentary from the Designer: A shirt design with a good humorous approach to stopping gossip and rumors. As the vintage artwork from World War II indicates, gossip has always been a problem. The loose lips sink ships slogan comes directly from the threat to naval vessels when people talked about ship movement during the war. Enemy spies would relay the information to submarines and sailors and soldiers lost their lives as a result. Today gossip still hurts people.
