	From Wikopedia: Detroit is the largest city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the seat of Wayne County. Detroit is a major port city on the Detroit River, in the Midwest region of the United States. Located north of Windsor, Ontario, Detroit is the only major U.S. city that looks south to Canada. It was founded on July 24, 1701 by the Frenchman Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac. Its name originates from the French word détroit for strait, characterizing its location on the river connecting the Great Lakes. Known as the world’s traditional automotive center, “Detroit” is a metonym for the American automobile industry and an important source of popular music legacies celebrated by the city’s two familiar nicknames, The Motor City and Motown.

	Commentary from the Designer:Detroit is my home. It a city with a great history and symbolic of the automotive industry. Over recent years Detroit has a “not-so-good” national reputation with declines in the automotive industry and unfavorable national news stories but first-time visitors to the area often are surprised what it has to offer. Summers in Detroit are magnificent and it is a U.S. gateway city to cross over into Canada. This vintage large letter postcard design is meant to celebrate Detroit pride for those who live in Detroit, are from the area or have visited. Be proud of Detroit Michigan!
