There is a copper colored star in the center representing Arizona’s copper-mining industry. The rest of the flag is colored blue, representing liberty. | |
| Commentary from the Designer: This is one of the most colorful state flags in the United States. I like Arizona’s sunburst behind the single star over a dark blue foreground. To me it harks back to Arizona’s history of an Old West frontier with brave settlers. Certainly the Arizona Flag design stands out among all other state flags. | |
